Mr. Hiroshi Sato

How do you feel now about the release of "MIRRORLIAR FILMS Season2" from February 18th (Friday)?

Mishima: This time, in Osaka, we will be able to show a work called "Inperial Dojima Immigration Bridge" set in Dojima. For the first time in my career as a director, I made a work in my hometown. It's a movie like a my novel, so I'd be happy if you could enjoy it.

Sato: About three years ago, I met Mishima at actor Shigeo Harada's house. "If you want to take a movie, call out," and it was decided to appear in this work. Of course, I was able to perform with a very good sense of tension, but I think that it is a very interesting opportunity for film people to enjoy secondarily because it leads from the work to expressions other than movies.

ー How about Takayuki Yamada who appeared in "The Little Star"?

Yamada: In fact, I had decided in my heart that I would never take action again. However, I worked hard with my body to be the work of Director Kazuaki Kiriya, who always makes works with a magnificent world view. I would like many people to see it as the last action scene of my actor's life. Also, I was co-starring with Marika Matsumoto for the first time in 21 years, but there was no line in the script, and I think I was able to perform like a terrible live session on the spot. "Isn't Takayuki Yamada actually a surprisingly good actor?"

Mr. Takayuki Yamada

Thank you very much (laughs). How did Director Mishima start making works for "Imperial Osaka Dojima Immigration Bridge"?

Mishima: The film started with the words "I want to eat a hamburger at an imperial restaurant" by my mother in the facility. Let's go after a long time……And when I headed to the shop at the foot of the bridge, I wasn't there. There was a poster saying that the store was closed two years ago. Just as the owner was a childhood friend, he contacted me immediately and heard that he was closed. When she told her, "I don't really want to eat a hamburger," she said, "I'm okay, and I'm still making Demigrass sauce." When I heard that word, I really felt like I was touching something like a little light as I lost many things in the corona whirlpools.

Director Yukiko Mishima

ーーThe thought of my mother was the origin of the work.

Mishima: So, before the imperial shop disappeared, before it was destroyed, I decided to make it a movie, so I started production. In my work, I thought of the composition of walking about 800 meters from Imperial to Kitashinchi Hondori, and one male student can be seen. I tried a reckless long run that could be said to be more than 11 minutes in time. It's a very difficult role, so when I thought that this could only be done by Hiroshi Sato, I suddenly remembered what I talked about at Yoshio Harada's home and offered it. I told you, "It's a difficult performance," but I was happy to accept it.

ーMr. Sato, how was the long run for more than 11 minutes?

Sato: Well, before the screening, it's amazing, and if you say it's amazing here, the hurdles will rise, so I don't want to say much.……。

Yamada: I just told you so much.

Sato: Mr. Yamada, I thought it would be nice to say so much.

(Everybody laugh)

Sato: There is a question about how much I can talk before the screening, but as a backstory, when the director spent a long time, he told me, "I really want to shoot with the light at 4:10 am at dawn." "Is this a one-shot game?" On the first day, when I tried shooting, the director didn't cut it. When I thought, "Is this OK coming out!", I was told, "Would you like to do it again tomorrow?"

What do you do?……。

Sato: To be honest, there's a feeling that it's tough.……。 But what I did for two days without compromise is all shown in this movie. I dare to raise the hurdle by myself. Think so and look forward to it.

How did you see the movie?

Ikenobo: I felt that the uniqueness of short films is condensed. Living is anxiety, joy, and sorrow……I think it can be done by moving my mind. By all means, I hope that each person will have their own interpretation according to their own heart, and feel the sense of movement of their minds.

Matsuyama: It's a frank impression that I want to watch every work again. As Mr. Ikebo said, I think there are different interpretations of each person. I think that it is a characteristic and cultural thing of this work to actively capture and enjoy the work from yourself instead of enjoying it as a one-sided entertainment expression with answers prepared. I felt that it was a work that included the goodness of such short films in the whole.
