"THINK AND SENSE" Mr. Shuhei Matsuyama

ー As the first attempt in the project, "Moments of Life" will be held, in which ikebana inspired by movies will be exhibited in the space production of digital art. What kind of exhibition is it called the Space and Time Museum?

Matsuyama: Nine short stories of "MIRRORLIAR FILMS Season2" will be exhibited in a video space that makes full use of the latest technology, with nine pairs of flower artists producing ikebana with the motif of the work. There are many works on the theme of life in movies, but Ikebana is also an art that deals with the life of plants. The expression changes every moment during the exhibition period. That's why I named it "Moments" which means moments. I think it is very unique to be able to make a completely new attempt as a mash-up of three different expressions, so I would be glad if you could see it by all means.

ーIkebo-san created an ikebana with the motif of director Mishima's "Inperial Osaka Dojima Immigration Bridge". What kind of thoughts did you create it?

Ikenobo: Living means that you have a heart. So, I expressed the emotions and conflicts in the work. There's no store you're familiar with. A feeling of loss that can happen to anyone would be stripped of a part of one's life. I came to create a terrible thing as a creature that I would like to live tomorrow, despite my worries and sadness, from the selection of flower materials.

ーThis time, you have chosen flower arrangement artists from the general public offering.

Ikenobo: In support of the purpose of free creation that transcends the boundaries of "MIRRORLIAR FILMS", we were invited to the general public. There are elementary school students among the members.……It is a challenge that is completely different from a regular exhibition, and I am very excited. The history of ikebana is very long, but I think you can see completely new expressions created by the latest modern technology. The expression of ikebana is also a very big challenge, and I feel that traditional culture will evolve newly.

ーHow do you think Mr. Mishima would like to hear the story now?

Mishima: I haven't seen the work yet, so I'm looking forward to meeting you anyway. You can only respond to movies from what you usually write on your expressions, words, SNS, etc. However, I think it's a tremendous honor to be able to convey what I felt in the form of another expression of ikebana. After watching the movie, I would like you to visit Ikebana's exhibition and have time to compare it with your feelings. If you do so, I think you will surely be able to get something richer.

What do you think of such a project that transcends the boundaries of Jungle?

Sato: I think it's very fun to inspire each other. The history of our movies is a little over 100 years. The history of ikebana is 1,000 years. Digital technology is added to it. I don't know if the expression of fusion is the correct answer, but various forms of culture overlapped. I am very happy to be involved in these new initiatives.

Moderator - Producer Keiko Shimokyo

Please give me a word for those who are watching the movie.

Sato: Although this film is a short film, I want you to enjoy the fun and difficulty of it. Because of the scale, setting and background of the person may be omitted. However, what did you feel from the non-explanatory part and how did you perceive it? It may be difficult to talk as a time, but please talk a lot on the Internet etc.

ー Mr. Takayuki Yamada, the producer and starring of this project, please give me a word.

Yamada:……In the script, it says "Please answer easily" about this novel exhibition, but I can't answer it easily. Fusion, cool, I want to see……If I was relaxing thinking, "Okay, let's say so," Mishima said, "Cool," and Sato-san said, "It's a bit different." I was wondering what happened, but my right leg was numb, even though I wasn't sitting right. So, at least in front of the media and everyone, I realized that I couldn't hear the answer to ask me difficult questions. But when I look at the real thing, I'm afraid that something new expression will begin in me.

Finally, please give me a word about the movie "MIRRORLIAR FILMS Season2".

Yamada: In this season 2, Shinnosuke Abe, Jun Shison, Ko Shibasaki and others are challenging their first coach. Not only the director, but everyone, including the staff and cast, is making works with various thoughts. It's a great pleasure to see the work, but why you made it, what you want to convey, and why you participated.……I think that if you have the viewers go one step further and take care of the filmmakers so far and the future, we will end up with our expressives.
