FACETASM Designer Hirori Ochiai Interview (3/3)

Interview with FACETASM Designer Hirori Ochiai

Hirori Ochiai, a designer of Japan's leading brand, FACETASM, oversees FamilyMart's original conveniencewear, which started in 2021. I don't think Ochiai and Osaka are very tied together, but in fact, they have been familiar with Osaka for more than 20 years. On the day before the release of the FACETASM capsule collection, we asked Mr. EYgyttasism from BOREDOMS and Mr. Ochiai, who visited the Shinsaibashi PARCO store about Facettasism and other creations and Osaka.

—This Shinsaibashi PARCO store will be the first directly managed store in Kansai, please tell us why you chose this place.

Ochiai: I'm from Itabashi, so I often went to Ikebukuro PARCO from elementary school. When I was in high school, I also had an edge PARCO called P'PARCO (Peadash Parco). I say too much every day, but I went to Parco so often that I have always felt close to it. Three years ago, I heard that a new and slightly special PARCO could be opened in Osaka. Originally, I wanted to have a store in Osaka, which I was familiar with. The timing was very good.

—How much pace is it in Osaka?

Ochiai: When I was twentieth, I came every month for a party hosted by EYyo-sweets. A hotel on the Ajien (a deep spot representing Osaka)? I wonder if it's a ryokan? My friends lived there. Have you been here about once every three months since this PARCO store was opened?

—Finally, are there any shops or spots that you often visit in Osaka?

Ochiai: The name of the shop doesn't come out, but when it comes to Osaka, curry is delicious, so I often take my friends to go there. It's sticky, but also the "New Light" of American Village. There is a menu called Ceylon rice like curry, but when I come to Osaka, I often go to eat it. After that, even though I didn't have a moped, I got a large license after I was over 40 years old, and started motocross two years ago (laughs). A very large off-road course is located in Nagano Kawachi, and we do it about once every six months.
