Yusuke Nakamura |"Yusuke Nakamura SPLIT!" Exhibition INTERVIEW (3/3)
Currently, illustrator Yusuke Nakamura's "Yusuke Nakamura SPLIT!" Exhibition is being held at the special venue on the 5th floor of Shinsaibashi PARCO. In this exhibition, including the original calendar for 2024, the original drawings before coloring of past masterpieces are also available. Nakamura World is staring at its detailed drawing and composition power. I would like to ask Mr. Nakamura, who celebrated the 20th anniversary of painting last year, about this solo exhibition and about his consistent motivation for painting style.

Do you have any other reasons?
Nakamura: Looking at my paintings, it was often described as having a sense, fashionable, and coloring, but that means that it is modern. From a certain point of time, let's crush the elements one by one. Modern means that it will not work in five years. That's why I changed the color to the primary color. Abolition of fashionable colors and use only the color of the first colored pencil used by elementary school students.
Don't stop by the trend.
Nakamura: That's right. Even if it was no longer fashionable and modern coloring, if there was a need, I thought that the picture itself was stronger or evidence that the work had strength. The same is true. I've always been thinking about being more polite and more polite.
You will continue to draw your hands carefully.
Nakamura: It's faster to do such a drawing line with the Beje curve of a personal computer now. But I think that continuing to draw hands is my weapon, or I think that writers will come out there. If you look closely, the lines may be slightly rattling, but I think that is also my own.
It's true that hand-drawing will be a weapon.
Nakamura: It's getting harder every year. Physical strength. That's why bands, radios, and essays have been suspended, and now I'm focusing only on pictures. I really like editing radio, so I want to do it, but now I can't afford it. When I was young, I didn't have to sleep. If you don't sleep now, your heart gets rough (laughs).
Speaking of which, Mr. Nakamura has a lot of connection with Shinsaibashi PARCO.
Nakamura: Godzilla Store Osaka and CAPCOM STORE OSAKA drew a picture of the 20th anniversary of the "Reversal Trial" series. I have something to do with you. That's why I'm 45 years old now, but I'd be happy if I could have an exhibition here even at the age of 55. I'll do my best to stay healthy until then. 10 years later.
