DOMMUNE × SHINSAIBASHI PARCO SPECIAL PROGRAM 2024, which was held at 2DAYS on October 10 and 11, as one of the highlights of the Shinsaibashi PARCO 4th anniversary event.

The theme of the first day of DOMMUNE × SHINSAIBASHI PARCO SPECIAL PROGRAM 2024 is “55 Years of Advertising in Eiko Ishioka and PARCO”.
The first part of the talk was Hiroshi Kusakari, who has been involved in Eiko Ishioka's work at PARCO's advertising department for many years, Koichi Kawajiri, who also edited the biography "TIMELESS Eiko Ishioka and His Era", and Naohiro Ukawa, president of DOMMUNE. PARCO celebrated its 55th anniversary this year, and has left advertisements that symbolize each era, but Eiko Ishioka has laid the foundation for this history.
At the Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art, the "Eiko Ishioka I Design" exhibition is also being held until December 1st, and the depth of the exhibition progresses steadily while talking about the real pleasure of the exhibition.
Regarding "I Design" given to the title of the exhibition, "I'm not just about I design, but also the intention of putting me into design. It is also Ishioka's I, "said Mr. Kawajiri, who also supervised me.
And the story is an episode of the encounter between Eiko Ishioka and PARCO.
Originally a Shiseido advertising department, she didn't want to work in advertising after independence, and she wanted to challenge a wider range of genres such as books and movies. There was also a backstory that brought her back to the world of advertising because there was a strong love call from PARCO.
A number of PARCO advertisements designed by Eiko Ishioka will be reflected in the large-scale vision of the floor. The advertisement when PARCO landed in Osaka for the first time in 1970 was also directed by Mr. Ishioka, and a nostalgic commercial was also played.
Seeing that, "Illustrations and live-action coexist. As an experimental media, we can re-recognize the existence of PARCO,” says Ukawa.
A number of other masterpieces are projected, and the talk of the three parties is also heated.
