"RE:CULTURE Once again, Parco." Infiltrate the first anniversary event of Shinsaibashi PARCO! ~ Touch art and have an exciting day from tomorrow! Edition~

Shinsaibashi PARCO celebrated its first anniversary on November 20! With the anniversary slogan of "Re:Culture once again, Parco," the theme at the beginning of the opening, "Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we value and express "art/culture" that stimulates sensibilities and "things" and "colorfulness." In order to return to Japan and excite Osaka and Shinsaibashi, the entire building is holding a first anniversary campaign.

"All empty box, Bijutsukan," ※From 14F/ to Sunday, December 12

The exhibition "Harukiru Empty Box Bijutsukan" by writer and empty box craftsman Harukiru, who produces art works from empty boxes of sweets, is being held at SPACE14 on the 14th floor until December 12th (Sun).
A lot of empty box art that has become a hot topic mainly on SNS gathers. In addition to new and first-time works, about 80% of the works produced so far will be exhibited at a record scale! I asked Haruru directly about the production of works that seemed lost in the world of fairy tales.

―No doubt, the box of sweets that you eat casually will be reborn as such an attractive work.…。 How do you come up with ideas?
When I walk around supermarkets and Plaplala, I come up with thinking, "What kind of work can I make with this box?" Package design is also one of the works I made while thinking about how professional designers look attractive, so it's most fun to make three-dimensional works while taking advantage of the original design.

―Do you have a blueprint in your head?
Rather than preparing and producing diagrams, I make them as if they were connected with clay. On average, it can be made in 1 to 2 weeks, and at the earliest about 3 hours.

―Are there any works that were particularly difficult on display this time?
The unique feature of the package is that the production approach is different, for example, there was no pure Japanese-style package like the new "Oni Koroshi", so it was difficult. Also, "Ritz" is my favorite masterpiece personally. Artificial objects such as cars and buildings are easy to make, but it is very difficult to make curves of creatures.

―All of them are works that really live. In particular, there are many things like gadgets such as robots and armor, so do you like it as a motif?
It may also be affected by the fact that you like anime and manga. Like "Principles", I think it was born after learning from poses, especially anime and manga. In terms of gadget feeling, the "cup noodle" package was a special material, so it was difficult to bend and attach it to it. That's why you can create a sense of near future that you can't put it on paper boxes.

―One of the most impressive things about "Cup Noodles" is that the character's personality stands out depending on the flavor.
Soy sauce taste is a royal road, so it becomes a character of the main character. On the other hand, seafood is a partner or a rival position. I'm thinking that curry and tomato flavor are sub-chara-paku and unique (laughs). One of the pleasures is to set the settings according to the package.

―While imagining the individuality of each work, if you look at it, the world will expand more! Are there any packages you are aiming for in the future?
At the moment, most of them can be purchased at nearby supermarkets, so in the future I would like to aim for the world expansion with works using boxes of sweets from overseas such as the United States!

This exhibition is so realistic that you can hear your breath, and there are only unique works that shine ideas so that you can fall in love with them. We actually sell sweets at merchandise sales, so be sure to buy it home and try to make three-dimensional!
