"RE:CULTURE Once again, Parco." Infiltrate the first anniversary event of Shinsaibashi PARCO! ~ Touch art and have an exciting day from tomorrow! Edition~

Shinsaibashi PARCO celebrated its first anniversary on November 20! With the anniversary slogan of "Re:Culture once again, Parco," the theme at the beginning of the opening, "Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we value and express "art/culture" that stimulates sensibilities and "things" and "colorfulness." In order to return to Japan and excite Osaka and Shinsaibashi, the entire building is holding a first anniversary campaign.

So this time, I would like to introduce an exciting art event suitable for the start of the memorable first anniversary. Until new works by up-and-coming artists and popular exhibitions that swept the world. I tried to approach each charm!

「P.O.N.D. mini」 ※4F until November 30 (Tuesday)

The SkiiMa Gallery, located in the coworking space on the 4th floor, has a business trip version of P.O.N.D., a new cultural festival called P.O.N.D., which mobilizes 5,000 people in 10 days at Shibuya Parco. From the exhibition hall in Shibuya, five up-and-coming creators suitable for the exhibition at this gallery participated. "P.O.N.D.", which inherited the philosophy of the predecessor event "Shibukull Festival." "Discovery and support of new talents", expresses the desire to be an event that always opens up a new dimension. What kind of thoughts did the young creators participating this time put into the work? I asked each and every one of them together with their future prospects.

About exhibition work "hand with free way cola"

A German friend told me, "This tastes real cola." What is the real coke for him? In the first place, I thought it was difficult to share and convey a sense of taste, etc., so I made it if I could visually show the difference in empathy at that time. I wonder if using artificial turf can lead to the ambiguity of real and fake.

Future Outlook
The gallery is often located a little far from the city center, so as a writer, there is a gallery in a commercial facility, and it is very fresh and happy to be able to easily see the work together with shopping and meals. So, in the future, I would like to continue to create more opportunities to exhibit at commercial facilities and exhibit overseas so that more people can see it.

■Mr. ayaka endo (photographer)

Graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts. Held his first solo exhibition in July 2021. He imitates human intervention in nature through digital processing and creates photographic works on the theme of animistic view of nature.

 About the exhibited work "Untitled"
I often take natural objects as the theme, and I often create a series that prints photos on cloth. This time, by printing tulips on a large cloth, we created a flower with a cute image to look a strong and scary image, and to experience an extraordinary perspective that changes to the way each person perceives it.

Future Outlook
I like animals and flowers, and I like natural things, so I keep taking pictures. I'm also interested in the texture of fabrics and other materials, so I hope to make works with a wide range of materials in the future.

■Hana Watanabe (Video Writer, Visual Artist)

Profile/ Born in 1999. Based in Tokyo, he is a member of the sister audiovisual tamanaramen. He creates works that focus on the loneliness inherent in individuals and the loneliness of the city.

About the exhibited work "New Temperature"
He became TMJ disorder in the summer and seemed to be getting stressed when he went to the hospital, and was mentally hunted down by a close person. At the same time, there is an acquaintance who was involved in a social incident, and the child has absolutely painful things, but I can't take on the pain or can't embrace it. When I was thinking about what to do, it was a work I made to see if there was no connection between my pain and someone's pain. At the same time, I can't tell my acquaintances directly, but I want to tell them that it's okay. I don't have to tell you.

Future Outlook
As with this exhibition, we were able to exhibit for the first time in Kansai, so people in Kansai can see it. I hope that I can create opportunities to see works in various places in the future.

■Toraju Kikuchi (Artist)

Profile/ Born in 1998. Graduated from the Department of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts. By dyeing the cloth using Yuzen dyeing, a traditional dyeing technique, and deforming the motif, he creates works that decorate the space with air.

About exhibition work "gift to something else by stretching"
Because my mother is involved in textiles, I grew up in a home with a piece of cloth, so I have a strong attachment to cloth and I am learning a thousand meals at school. This time, by dyeing objects that cannot be determined, such as signs of people who usually see them and plants, on cloth, stretching them in the exhibition space, pasting them, and putting them together with invisible air to create added value that can only be found here I created the theme of adding.

Future Outlook
I would like to continue to use cloth to exhibit in various spaces. I think the way of stretching will change depending on the location of the city, ruins, amusement parks, stations, etc., and the way you see it will change. I would like to convey the expression of cloth and the fun of crafts using the technique of dyeing, which was originally created to decorate people.

■Shuzo Tajima (artist, musician)

Profile/ Graduated from Musashino Art University, Department of Oil Painting in 2021. Received the CAF Award Jury Prize in 2018. He mainly produces paintings, installations and videos. He is also engaged in music activities as a rapper/beat maker of the hip-hop unit "PICNIC YOU".

About the exhibited work "COMPLETE LIFE"
Smartphone cameras are evolving rapidly, and when you look at the photos you take, you're focusing on everything. It's a camera's vision, developed to accurately capture reality, but in fact, the higher accuracy and technology, the more it's far from what humans see. I feel eerie that everything is focused, at the same resolution, and the light hits everything. Humans give priority order, and consciousness concentrates and blurs the surroundings, so when the human function and recognition weakens or deviates, the world may approach the noise of TV sandstorms as much as possible. There will be no front and back, the history and meaning will be gone, and everything will be the same resolution. I wanted to do something like that.

Future Outlook
In the future, I would like to work on expressions that use images in my university graduation work, and in the future I would like to work on expressions that use different media instead of focusing on paintings.

This exhibition can be enjoyed free of charge at the coworking space. Please experience the work directly by up-and-coming creators who will be responsible for the future art scene!
