Shinsaibashi PARCO (April 4) with Ryo Zhujo starring Manuela

―When Mr. Tamajo was active as a top star in the Takarazuka Revue, he was impressed by his dynamic dance that made use of his height. In this work, I'm looking forward to the changes in my works and expressions when playing a female dancer.

Zhujo: When I was a male role, I was conscious of straight movements to make it look masculine. In particular, I've focused on how sharp and smart it looks. This time, I think that it is necessary not only for the beauty of the curve as a woman, but also for the strength and flexibility, so I would like to study how to get closer to Manuela.

―I'm also looking forward to the scene where Mr. Tamashiro, who has been leading the opponent as a male role, dances with co-stars as a female role.

Zhujo: It's certainly fresh. However, since I understand the feelings of the lead side, I know that it would be easier to lead if I was in such a position, so I think it was good to play a male role (laughs).

―The bright red dress worn in visual photography, which is also a poster for this work, was also impressive.

Zhujo: It's very nice. I want you to look forward to the costumes of the day. When I always wear costumes and hair makeup on the stage, it changes from my face that I usually see, so I have a feeling that the world view of my work spreads even more. By wearing that bright red dress in this visual shoot, the image of Manuela expanded even more.

―On this shop cruise at Shinsaibashi PARCO, we stopped by an incense shop. I heard that you will change perfume according to the role, but what kind of smell does it fit with the image of Manuela?

Zhujo: In kungyokudo, the scents such as "Hanazono Sara" and "Phoenix Wisteria" seem to match. The gorgeous name seems to fit her mood. I hope you can find a perfume that enhances your image and makes you feel better.

―Music, scripts, and performers are made with distinguished faces. In 2023, a good start seems to be coming.

Zhujo: I think it's only easier to learn to work with wonderful performers and careers than pressure. You can learn a lot, absorb it and study it. It will surely be a meaningful work. As soon as I finished reading the script, each and every word of Manuela has become easier to convey, and the feelings of the people who lived in that era should be more straight. What is it like when we play the role and speak the words? I'm excited from now on.
