"Eggs" that feel the heartbeat of energy
――How did you first receive the opening of Shinsaibashi PARCO?
Michihiko Yanai: It was not a completely new entity from scratch, but I felt interesting and rewarding to "resurrection, return after a long absence." I was very excited to see what kind of building Shinsaibashi PARCO will be and how it will impact the city. Kosugi-kun and I have a style of working while interacting with LINE, but looking back at the history, the idea of "egg" was born in April of this year, on the day when we first consulted by PARCO.
Koichi Kosugi: Mr. Yanai had a direction called "Eggs Feeling Energy". I've always been talking about eggs that feel energy from the inside, not superficial. It was also said, "Become an egg artist!" (laughs). It was a few months that I made every egg.
Sennai: I expressed the state on the verge of hatching in a teaser advertisement, and compared it to the opening of this time that the existence born from it. It's a very sticky idea, but I thought that the ease of transmission and straightness without escape from the fact that it's sticky, suitable for the opening of Shinsaibashi PARCO. I asked Kosugi to think about a lot of eggs anyway. Eggs are not chickens, dinosaurs, crocodiles, lizard, and they laid out forms, colors, expression techniques, and all kinds of eggs.
Kosugi: In my exchange with Mr. Yanai, when I thought about what energy was, I came to the expression of gradation. Red and blue have blood meanings in the color of arteries and veins, and it is also a color that imagines two emotions with a swing of passion and calmness, so the expression of the gradation that combines the two colors makes Aiko Nic feel.
Sennai: On the way, Kosugi-kun embedded the word "heart" of Shinsaibashi in the gradation, and I thought that once the soul entered it, it became a unique egg. After all, I wanted to make it a three-dimensional expression that was filled with contents and could hear the fetal motion of life, but I thought it wasn't like PARCO if I just wanted to put a shadow on it. It's flat, but there's depth, or it's on paper or display, but you can feel the temperature……。 Kosugi-kun expressed a difficult image brilliantly.
