―The Creators Talk Session will be the first initiative. The three project founders are participating, so I would like to hear a lot of stories. What kind of work is "point", a producer and the first director's work?

Abe
: I made it like a road movie with the theme of "How do two people who can't communicate with each other?" There is no particular intense production, but I hope you can watch the gradation. Takayuki's "The Little Star" was a movie with intense feelings.

Yamada: There was no intense production, but after watching it, I said, "I had so much to say Abe-chan."

Abe: It would be nice if you could feel that way. I thought I would say everything that I usually thought through this film.

Mr. Takayuki Yamada

―What kind of work is "The Little Star" that you mentioned?

Yamada: There are many action scenes as images, so there is a sense of speed. Also, I think it's easy to understand through all the works.

Shimogyo: The director said, "This is not an action movie."

Yamada: That's right. It's not an action movie just because there are many scenes with movement. What is the definition of action movies in the first place?

Ito:……An action movie if blood flows?

Abe: No, it won't be an action film because blood flowed once (laughs).

Yamada: Well, the first highlight of the work is not an action, but a part of a change in human feelings about how people live after despair. After that, what I use as a theme is to raise a problem for the world, such as kidnapping children.

Keiko Shimokyo

―As a producer, how did you participate in the field of "point"?

Shimogyo: I think the script was originally written assuming a sunny scene, but it was raining all the time during the shooting period.……。

Abe: It looked like a storm. I felt like I couldn't walk outside.

Shimogyo: But it was clear only when shooting the last scene, and I thought that Shinnosuke Abe was the person who had it.

Yamada: Speaking of which, even when shooting "Day and Night", it suddenly snows. If you have Abe-chan, the weather will be rough.

Abe: Mr. Takayuki helped me remove the snow. It was hard, but it's also a spice of movies. Mr. Shimokyo was a producer in an overcrowded schedule, but it was a difficult position to have him produce. However, it was helpful to always excite the scene with wonderful tension.

Yamada: Oh! There are a lot of customers today, so please talk better and better.

(Everybody laugh)
Mr. Ito

―What was the reason why "MIRRORLIAR FILMS" started?

Ito: Originally, I started with the story of "Let's do a project to make films rather than auditions" because I created a platform for actors and actors called "MIRRORLIAR". From there, the concept is to create an environment where everyone can use movies as a place of expression, regardless of their occupation or experience. As a result, not only the directors and actors who agreed with that thought, but also the general public challenged me.

Yamada: There were 419 groups from the general open call for participants. Probably, I think that a movie that I've been watching as an entertainment will change my perspective as you try to produce it.

Abe: It was hard to narrow down to 12 groups, but there were also works with great interesting ideas. Also, I am very happy that this kind of reaction has been returned to what we have sent out, and I am deeply moved to think that it was a catalyst for film production.

Ito: It was also a difficult task to sort short stories into one work, but it was fun. By the way, this time it seems that there is a reputation in order.

Yamada: No, who thought it?……。

Ito: This time……Well, I guess you're not Mr. Yamada (laughs). Everyone thought about it and finally decided on Mr. Yamada's opinion. This time Mr. Yamada has come down very much, is it inspiration?

Yamada: Abe's work is a clear story and a road movie, so I put it in the early stage because he said it was just right at the entrance.

Abe: I thought it would be good to use the slow "point" as the entrance because I sometimes leave it when a work with a fast tempo comes when it is not warm yet in the early stages.

―Mr. Shimokyo also participated as a producer in the work of Ko Shibasaki, who was the first director this time.

Shimogyo: I was very worried about creating a theme as to what I could create the work I wanted to express. But after the theme was decided, it was finished so smoothly that I couldn't think of it as the first director from production preparation to site and editing.

Ito: I guess I had taken about 10 shots so far, so it was about a partition and determination. Since he is an actor who has experienced many scenes, he was very good at conveying the image he wanted to shoot to the staff and actors. Also, I had the impression that I was able to communicate with Mr. Shimokyo with a very good feeling.

Yamada: You said that you would like to try a feature-length work with this work as a trigger. I'm very happy that the number of creators is increasing in this way. Abe was the first director, but how was it? I think the theme was decided quite early.

Abe: At first, I was thinking about the theme of SNS and so on, but as I delve into it, I settled down on a universal theme of communication. But it took the most time to find out what I wanted to take.

Ito: The main communication is the era of SNS, but if you try to express it in a movie, it will become a picture on the screen of your smartphone. After all, the screens and letters don't give me much impression, so I think Abe's movie was very good.

Yamada: Do you want to take pictures again?

Abe: I would like to take a picture, "Is this effort in a 15-minute work?……If you think about it, the feature story is not easy (laughs). But it was really fun, so I will continue to do actors and directors in the future.……I want to be involved in the movie.

※Mr. Shinnosuke Abe will participate so far for drama shooting in Canada.
