―In the second half of the talk session, I would like Shuhei Matsuyama, visual artist of Moments of Life, an exhibition that combines three expressions of film, ikebana, and digital art, to talk about cutting-edge technology. Thank you very much.

Matsuyama: Usually, a team of about 30 people called "THINK AND SENSE" performs digital art and spatial design in various places such as motor shows. Currently, programming is often used in the field of VFX in the film industry, and software that can create mechanisms intuitively rather than programs like traditional symbols has emerged and has attracted much attention. The OP of "MIRRORLIAR FILMS" was also created using a tool called "TouchDesigner".

Regardless of occupation or genre, the philosophy of "MIRRORLIAR FILMS", a unique omnibus, is expressed with the concept that white light is divided into various colors, and finally a bundle is formed to create a single work. After analyzing Yamada's song, the graphic synchronizes and moves according to the song.

Ito: Can I use this software as long as I have a computer?

Matsuyama: That's right. The tool itself is basically free of charge, so if you have a personal computer.

Yamada: Mr. Ito, do you have a personal computer?

Ito: I'm an analog person……。 Oh, but recently I bought an iPad (laughs).

Mr. Shuhei Matsuyama

Matsuyama: Like an era where anyone can shoot movies, many young people in my team are learning their own skills by watching YouTube. I really feel that digital art and CG are in an era where hurdles are falling very much.

Shimogyo: I myself studied on YouTube and did everything from shooting to editing myself. When I tried it, I learned that anyone could make a work without having to buy high equipment if they had an idea and motivation. Digital technology expands the range of expression, and I think it was born in a really good era.

Yamada: In fact, in Hollywood, movies shot only with smartphones are also released. You added the catch of the project, taking into account the era when it was easy to take the first step of movie production.

Ito: I would like Mr. Matsuyama to travel all over the country to spread this technology. If you know technology, there will always be creators who demonstrate their ridiculous talents.

Matsuyama: It's a technology that can be used if you know it, so I hope there is something that can help you.

Yamada: With the evolution of technology, the possibilities are really expanding. When shooting a scene of driving a car, it was a popular way to use a green bag to process it with CG, but recently the quality of the monitor video has been improved, so the scenery flowing next to the car is reflected and photographed directly.……。 It's getting very simple, isn't it?

Matsuyama: It was actually used in red and white last year with a technology called virtual production system. The angle of view of the camera is tracked in real time, and the video and lighting are programmed so that all images and lighting are linked in real time. It's one of the most promising technologies right now.

Yamada: Originally, location was a great deal of money, but it might be covered by such technology. In that case, the possibilities will expand in various ways.
