―In this "VENUS" exhibition, what is the concept of this VENUS series?
Amano: To put it simply, you're drawing something that you think is cute and beautiful. What is that "the cute thing"? What is the ideal VENUS? It can be said that I've been doing research all the time. VENUS is a goddess, so it's exaggerated, but I think it's like Amida Bodhisattva. Even if I think I was able to draw well every time, there is no end.
―You have been exploring since the beginning of your thirties who created VENUS.
Amano: That's right. I think it's perfect for each solo exhibition. I'm drawing with my full power, but next time I want to draw like this. That repetition. That's why (a solo exhibition in PARCO GALLERY) is the best place to reach now.
―Is the latest work the best work?
Amano: The latest is the best. It's the same as Porsche (laughs). Of course, it's a pile of past works.
―The main exhibition this time is a tour from PARCO MUSEUM TOKYO in Shibuya, which was held until last month, but a new work drawn. In addition, there are 4 works of No. 150, with large works as the axis.
Amano: That's right. I'd be happy if you could feel the feeling. The picture is getting bigger and bigger, isn't it? I thought I had to draw a small picture with that reaction. (If the size is large) sometimes sticks to Di Tyr. If it is big, the exhibition and movement are difficult, but will everyone take care of it? There's also a feeling. But it may be bigger in the future. It's a narrow atelier, so now this is the last minute (laughs).
―In this solo exhibition, not only two-dimensional works, but also two gold three-dimensional works, bronze and brass, shine in the center of the venue. So to speak, the nirvana statue of VENUS?
Amano: I originally wanted to do sculptures. These were (VENUS) popped out of the picture. I really wanted to make everything with gold (laughs). It's too much budget. These two works are polished every day, but if they really get shiny, it seems that it will take a year even for a professional polysher.
